Heng Loong Cheong

Heng Loong Cheong is based in Hong Kong. He is one of the original founders of the BCLA and is chair of the BCLA Committee. Heng is a partner with Dewey & LeBoeuf, whose practice focuses on public and private M&A, corporate finance, complex corporate re-organisations and equity capital markets. Prior to joining Dewey & LeBoeuf Heng spent six years at Clifford Chance London. Heng speaks Cantonese and Bahasa Malaysia.

Jennifer Jin

Jennifer Jin is co-chair person of the BCLA. She works as Vice President – Senior Analyst at Moody’s Investors Service Limited, working as an in-house lawyer supporting Moody’s structured finance rating teams. Before joining Moody’s in 2007, she worked for over 10 years at Clifford Chance both in its Shanghai and London Offices. She specialises in banking, financing and capital markets, in particular, project finance and securitisation. She is a native Mandarin speaker and is fluent in English.

Peter Gray

Peter Gray is based in Dubai. He is a local partner at the Dubai office of Dewey & LeBoeuf. His main practice areas include litigation and arbitration and he has assisted a number of Chinese clients in resolving disputes. As a committee member of the BCLA, Peter has arranged a number of events, including seminars, dinners and drinks receptions, in both London and Hong Kong. Peter speaks Mandarin Chinese (intermediate).

Lynn Chan

Lynn Chan is a counsel in O’Melveny & Myers LLP’s Singapore office and a member of their Investment Fund & Securitization Practice. Lynn’s practice focuses on the formation of private equity funds, acting for both general partners and limited partners.  Lynn speaks English and Mandarin Chinese.

George Vaughton

George Vaughton is qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales and Hong Kong and is currently seconded to the Beijing office of Slaughter and May. He previously trained and worked as an associate in Slaughter and May’s London and Hong Kong offices and has interned in Shanghai with Jun He Law Offices. His main practice areas include debt finance and equity capital markets.  Prior to becoming a solicitor George studied, lived and worked in China for several years.

Tom Calvert

Thomas Calvert is an associate in the Beijing office of Vinson & Elkins LLP. His main practice areas include corporate law, debt finance and energy projects. Prior to joining Vinson & Elkins LLP Thomas worked at a magic circle firm in London. Thomas speaks advanced Mandarin Chinese and has studied at a number of Chinese Universities including Fudan University, Beijing Language and Culture University and Jilin University.
